If you answered yes to the questions above, you could be suffering from analysis paralysis.

Analysis paralysis happens when someone becomes so caught up in thinking and evaluating that they are unable to make a decision. This used to be one of my biggest problems. I would have all these ideas and I would get so excited about the possibility of them becoming a reality that I would make all these plans. When it came time to take action and do what I had planned, I would choke. I would tell myself why I couldn't or I would procrastinate... I was a total mess. One question I get often is the question of how do I start? After talking to a few of my clients I realize that paralysis analysis is a common problem. Starting is the hard part but once you have, once you actually start it becomes easier to make it a habit so that change can happen.

I want you to ask yourself what's preventing you from starting and write those answers down. When you have discovered the issue take action to conquer each of the reasons you wrote down.

You see, you have to get comfortable with living outside of your comfort zones and face your fears! Do you want to reach that goal? Do it. You have to do something. Stop sitting on the fence of life, waiting for the perfect moment. Don't wait for the perfect job or the perfect mate. Live it now, Do it now while you're still living.

Here are some things you could do to help cure paralysis analysis

1. Structure your day. I cannot do my day without my task list. I just cannot. I structure my day putting the most important things at the beginning of my day and the least important to the end.

2. Define your goals. What are you trying to achieve? Can you break your main goals into smaller goals? Once you know what your goals are you can take actions daily to get your closer to achieving your goals.

3. Forget about perfection. You don't need to be perfect unless you're making a major life decision. Any decision you'll make will have its pros and cons but don't let that stop you from taking your first step. If you want to get an outside opinion, try talking to a trusted friend or mentor who can give you some advice.

4. Just go for it. We spend so much time perfecting our chance just take action. There are only two outcomes.

Don't sabotage your dreams with your thoughts. Get out of your head and take action. - Tweet This
