Entrepreneur Highlight: Renee Lee - Strut By Re

How did you get into your business?

Well since growing up I loved fashion. I had this knack for cutting up my school socks and making dolly clothes, then got a distinction in clothing and textile in high school. From there my friends would always tell me I have an eye cute outfits but more specifically bikinis. I was the queen of cute bikinis till I thought why not make something of it and incorporate some clothing also. Thus Strut By Re was born.

How do you promote yourself?

Well first of all Instagram has been a good platform. Posting content along with customer photos and reviews and asking friends and supporters to share a post or tag us when they wear us has been doing its thing.

Do you have any upcoming projects?

Well as it draws closer to the Christmas times I will be partnering with a few events on swimwear and also great party outfits.

What is your philosophy in life?

Hmmmm! You know I don't know if I have a set philosophy but I am a strong believer of never giving up even if it crumbles you, you find a way to push through.

In your opinion what do you think are the keys to success?

I am still learning them as I go. However, If you're going to do anything in life, do it to the best of your ability. Do research and make sure your heart is in and not just about making money. Passion will carry you far in life.

What made you start your business?

Going back to the first question, I had a real eye for cute swimwear pieces. Whenever my partner at the time and friends were planning anything I would be on my phone trying to find cute outfits and bikinis for our trip and after a few conversations with these special people, I decided why not go for it? I LOVE doing it anyway.

What blogs and websites do you follow and why?

Well, you firstly. Not just as my friend but Suety, in general, is such a motivating person. You truly know how to inspire and keep people going.

Another not so much a blog nor website but a person. @jenequep @waynette_ & @richrush are all either persons I spoke with when I was just starting out and/or women who are just a constant motivation to never give up & to truly learn to live & love life.

Other than that I was never really one to sit and follow up on that. I mean I have a few sites I view for personal shopping pleasures lol or marketing inspiration but not so much follow up less there is a sale I wanna def be apart of lol.
