JaRIA Awards 2020:The public votes for Mortimer | Reggae Month

Fan favourite, Mortimer, a rising Jamaican reggae recording artist walked away with two trophies at the recent JaRIA awards show last Tuesday. He won Breakthrough artiste of the year beating fellow nominees Govanna, Stylo G, Lila Ike and Kemar Highcon. The reggae artist also won Song of the year for his song Lightning and I thought it was well deserved. The other nominees in this category were Chronic Law for his song Hillside, Koffee for her song Rapture, Buju Banton for his song Trust and Stylo G for his song Dumpling.

Painting The City: Rae Town

Just blocks away from the General Penitentiary, in the heart of Rae Town, Kingston Creative, in association with Women Empowering Women, held their first Rae Town ArtWalk last Saturday. It is the first in a series of community arts events that will be held by the group in hopes to "encourage more earning from community tourism and to position Kingston as the creative capital of the Caribbean."

Xodus Carnival: 2020 Enchanted Vision

I recently visited their distillery to participate in their rum tour and had an amazing time. Worthy Parks tour consists of the telling of the history of Worthy Park's rum, a tour of the facility and rum tasting.
