Sue takes on Bahamas
Day One
I have never been on a cruise before so I was pretty nervous. I was also very excited. I love to travel and see new places and experience new things. Vacations are always great but when you get the chance to share it with people you love it is even better. My friend Luci was just shy of her 30th and thought this cruise would be a perfect way to celebrate. Of course I said yes and I took along with me my special person :)
Our check in time was 2 pm so we made sure to get there on time. We arrived at the Port of Miami and searched for our ship and corresponding gate. We checked in our luggage and made our way into the building for check in. At the counter the guy checked our passports and our confirmation letter and handed us our keys.
Excitement started to build inside of me with every step I took. We were greeted by the Norwegian Sky crew and their smiling faces. This was it! The fun was about to begin. First of all let me say the ship is HUUUGGGGEEEEE! Trying to figure out where our room was quite a challenge but we eventually figured it out. We put our stuff down in our room and made our way to the cafe on the outer deck for some well deserved food! The food was great, the drinks were even better, and the vibes was just right. The ship set sail at 5pm and shortly after we had to participate in a safety drill.
We immediately began to plan the places we would go while on board because we wanted to make sure we enjoyed every minute of it. Dinner reservations were made for the Palace restaurant. I must say the service was great here and the food.... the food was oh so good! Then Dazzle night club was the place to be where we danced the night away! I had a great time.
Day Two
We made sure to visit to include the gym and the pool in the agenda for our first full day on deck. The weather was just right. We could hardly find space in the pool so most of our time was spent taking in the sun. The best time to use the pool and the jacuzzi would be anytime around 7 am - 10am. Please note , as we found out the hard way, the pool is not your regular chlorine pool but is a salt water pool. Dinner reservations were made for the Crossings restaurant. I don't think we loved this one as much as the Palace restaurant as that became our favorite restaurant. By 6pm we were in Bahamas. We made our way off the boat and explored the town. The accents were clearly different from us Jamaicans. Most of the stores were closed too so there wasn't much to see. I had been wanting to go to Senor Frog so we made our way there. We had a few drinks and enjoyed the free wifi. ( Wifi is available on the boat can be a little bit pricey. ) We made plans to go to the white party on the ship but we were so exhausted. By the time we got dressed the party was over so we headed back to the good ol' Dazzle and enjoyed the rest of our night there.
Day Three
Today was the day to explore Bahamas. That was number one on our list but before we did that we made sure to take advantage of the empty jacuzzi to relax and take a few pics. Thank NCL for the free gifts that we got :) We spent the rest of the day at Atlantis, exploring the different aquariums and frolicking at the beach.
