Weight loss should not be the only motivator to sign up for a gym or to start exercising. Every day new articles are published with all these benefits of exercising. I've been doing my very own research since I am into fitness now and there are so many reasons to work out every day that you probably didn't know. Here's a short list of the benefits of exercising.

1. Exercise reduces blood pressure

Exercise helps reduce your blood pressure by attacking the plaque in your arteries. As the arteries widen, the blood flows through more freely, and your blood pressure eventually starts to drop.

2. It reduces PMS ladies :)

Trust me, when I am feeling cramps or moody, exercise is the last thing on my mind. But, getting in the gym and running on the treadmill for an hour helps to alleviate these symptoms as well as the depression that comes with PMS.

3. Reduces stress

Exercise is one of the most effective ways to reduce stress hormones from your body. Exercise can help you calm down and relax. Try it the next time you are feeling a little stressed out.

4. Boosts creativity

Studies have shown that creative thinking is improved by walking.  Personally, most of my blog ideas come when I am running or walking. So go for a stroll and bring your phone so you can record your ideas.

5. It strengthens your heart

It may feel like your heart is thumping itself out of your chest during those hill sprints, but your ticker will thank you later.

6.  Strengthens your bones

I am almost 30....By the time I get to 30 I would have reached peak bone and muscle mass. By my 40s, I would begin to lose it. With proper nutrition and regular exercise, I can slow down the process, keeping my bones and muscles strong.

7. Saves you money

If you invest in yourself now and take the time to exercise on a regular basis, your body becomes healthier which means you are preventing possible health issues in the future.

8. Helps your fertility

Research has found that men who exercise daily have a higher concentration of sperm in their semen and that the sperm was of better-than-average quality. Also, women get a boost in fertility from getting their exercise on.

9. Improves your self-esteem

I mean this is a no brainer. Exercise improves your appearance which also improves your confidence.

10. Lets you sleep like a baby

Having trouble sleeping? Regular physical activity can help you fall asleep faster.

11. Improves your mood

If you are feeling exhausted all the time or in an awful, exercise may be the answer.  Spend 30 minutes working out and see how you feel after.

12. You will have better sex

Working out makes you feel fit. This makes you feel better about yourself which makes you feel sexier. Confidence being the sexiest trait one can possess. Resistance training can boost testosterone levels which will increase your energy, mood and sex drive.

I hope that after going through these list of reasons to start exercising that you would have already put on your sneakers and grabbed your bottle of water. Exercise is good for your physical body, makes you look good but it's good for your brain.

Oh, to help you get motivated here are some workout essentials.
