Top 5 Cafes In Kingston Every Freelancer Should Try

If you are one of the thousands of freelancers operating in Jamaica there is a great possibility that you may be operating from home. I get it, I operate from home too, mainly because I don't want to have to worry about commuting to work, I save money and I love the comfort of working in my pyjamas. However, I often get distracted by the television, tempted to sleep in my bed or get bored of being in the same place all day.

Recently, I have been visiting a few cafe shops just to switch things up a bit, socialize and keep me inspired. Here are a few cafe shops in Kingston, Jamaica that I think every Freelancer should try.

PRESS, is a quaint cafe located on Ardenne Road.  They have a variety of hot and cold beverages, pastry and even sushi. The complimentary wifi and relaxed, indoor seating makes it perfect for freelancers to get work done.

TOYOTA COFFEE HOUSE. This has to be one of my favourite cafe/coffee houses I’ve visited in Kingston. First thing first, the coffee is to die for. If you are indeed a coffee lover, you need to try their coffee. The food and beverages are reasonably priced which gives them a competitive advantage. This cafe is located inside the Toyota Dealership on 93, Old Hope Rd, Kingston. This comfy cafe shop offers fast and free wifi, Instagram worthy lattes, and a front row seat to all the latest Toyota vehicles in the showroom downstairs.

RITUALS.  For those in the mood for coffee beverages, this is the place. Nestled in the corner of village plaza,  Rituals offers everything from pastries to sandwiches, paninis and salads. Another plus is the free wifi and comfortable seating area.

CAFE DOLCE. This modern cafe shop is a conveniently peaceful experience hidden on Constant Spring Road. Cafe Dolce’s menu features over 8 types of teas, breakfast bites, sandwiches, wraps and salads. If you need a place to study, read, "work," Cafe Dolce. Electric sockets are limited so make sure your devices are fully charged. Wifi codes are redeemable at the cashier and lasts for 2 hours and can only work one device at a time :(

FOOTPRINTS. Tucked away in an unassuming street is Footprints Cafe, an unexpected surprise. Footprints Cafe is located at 5, Belmont Rd, Kingston 5 and is more of a restaurant than a cafe. Here you’ll find more full course meals versus sandwiches, pastries and coffee. It is perfect for large gatherings . Complimentary Wifi is available for all customers.
